Design Technology

At King Edwin Primary we follow the National Curriculum for Design Technology. 
 

The teaching of Design and Technology:

  • Encourages children to make sense of the technologically evolving world around them.

  • Teaches children how products are designed and made for a specific purpose, audience/user and function.

  • Enables children to come up with imaginative or logical solutions to problems.

  • Develops designing, planning, peer and self evaluation skills.

  • Gives children the skills to cook simple, nutritious food with an understanding of where it comes from.

Lego League
 
In the summer term, children from Reception to Year 4 take part in the First Lego League. This is a programme where children learn a range of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) skills through a real-life challenge using Duplo and Lego.
