  • Encourages children to explore families and help them to understand that everybody's family is unique.

  • Supports children to understand how to look after their own bodies through exercise, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and looking after their mental health.

  • Teaches children to be financially aware and to understand the world of work.

  • Helps children to understand why and how bullying can occur and what support is available if they have worries about this.

  • Develops children’s understanding of the British Values, preparing them for life in modern Britain.

From September 2020 the Department for Education made Relationships Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education compulsory in all schools.
Parents have a right to request that their child is withdrawn from sex education, but not from relationships education. Parents can ask their school for their child to be withdrawn from some or all of sex education lessons.
Should you have any questions or concerns about what is being taught, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
